Abstract:

On the fish Labeo rohita, the impact of a sublethal dose of cadmium (0.01 μg/lt) was tested on blood glucose, liver glycogen, and muscle glycogen. The first day of exposure resulted in an increase in the blood glucose level, which then steadily dropped between the seventh and fifteenth day. Their levels began to steadily increase from the 15th day onwards, and by the 30th day of the exposure period, they were getting closer and closer to being under control. In contrast to this, the amounts of glycogen found in the liver and the muscles moved in the other direction.
