Abstract:

The toxicity of Dimilin (difluberguron), Sevin (carbaryl) and Dimecron (phosphamidon) against Postelectrotermes pasniensis Snyder was compared. Dimilin was more toxic than the other insecticides under laboratory conditions. In one month old treated soil, Dimilin retained its toxicity at 800 ppm and above. LC50 values of Dimilin, Sevin and Dimecron were 32.36, 123.02 and 125.9 ppm, LT50 values were 1.0, 6.60 and 8.50 ppm and LT90 were 1.99, 12.88 and 15.13, respectively. Regarding repellency, Dimilin was repellent at l600 and 500 ppm, Sevin at 1640 ppm and Dimecron was not repellent at any of the concentrations tested.
