Abstract:

Thirty-nine leaf samples of ‘Newhall’ navel orange were collected from 39 citrus orchards in South Jiangxi Province of China. The method of modified diagnosis and recommendation integrated system (M-DRIS) was performed to evaluate the nutritional status of ‘Newhall’ navel orange trees in order to find out the main limiting nutrient factors. The relationship between M-DRIS indices and corresponding nutrient concentrations in ‘Newhall’ navel orange leaf was established to identify the optimum nutrient concentrations in the leaf. The result indicated that the optimum nutrient concentrations in ‘Newhall’ navel orange leaves were N 31.53 g kg-1, P 1.49 g kg-1, K 20.23 g kg-1, Ca 32.75 g kg-1,  Fe 113.65 mg kg-1,  Mn 61.03 mg kg-1, Cu  7.69 mg kg-1 and B 89.65 mg kg-1. The main limiting nutrient factors were the excess of leaf Fe and Mn and the deficiency of leaf Mg and Zn.
