Situational analysis and intervention strategy for Gayo coffee agroindustry institution in Indonesia

Abstract:

Situational analysis and institution intervention strategy is such an important study in developing agroindustry institution. Without situational explication of the problem faced, the institution intervention to be given will become more difficult. So does the intervention strategy, the clearer the form of institution to deal with will ease every transformation plan to be upgraded, preserved, improved, or to make a new one. The purpose of the research was to analyse the situation and formulating the strategy of Gayo coffee agroindustry institution intervention in Province of Aceh, Indonesia. Situational analysis is carried out through soft system methodology (SSM) approach, while institution intervention strategy will use institution intervention analysis. This research resulted in conceptual model of Gayo coffee agroindustry institution development and institution intervention strategy which can be given by any related supporting institutions. The form of intervention for certification and cooperative institutions is assistance, while for general trading partnership institution is facilitation, and for independent business is through promotion.
