Abstract:

Scattered farmers are taken as the main body China’s agricultural production. This paper empirically analyses main using characteristics of pesticides applications of the scattered farmers by using partial least squares (PLS) model  through the fieldwork of the 500 scattered farmers in  different parts of Jiangsu and Zhejiang province. The study found that length of education of dispersed farmers, whether participating in government training, peasant families’ family  income and other factors significantly affect the behaviours in various stages of pesticides applications. Meanwhile, the effects of  farmers family acreage, family size, farmers own gender, age, and other factors vary in its different stages of pesticide application. Therefore, the current government must establish and improve welfare agricultural technique extension system, intensify the efforts on government training and improve the households cognitions of pesticide residues.
