Abstract:

The idea of interest approach is one of the essential ideas that influence in environmental co-operation to achieve sustainable development. The application the idea of interest approach, within the Principle of Transboundary Liability, largely in response to the necessity of every each individual state to protect their rights and interests in order to safeguard the environmental surroundings as well as water resources from being polluted. Therefore, this paper examines the idea of interest approach, which concerns with costs and benefits, within the Principle of Transboundary Liability focusing on transboundary water pollution from the international environmental law perspectives, identify cases and actions, which deal with the environmental protection as well as a tool for sustainability based on the concept of sustainable development.
