Abstract:Selecting world natural heritage site, Golden Lake in Taining County, Fujian Province, both the world geological parks and national AAAAA grade scenic spot, as a typical sample, the author adopts principal component analysis (PCA) in analyzing water quality changes in Ganlu Temple section, and then establishes mathematical model to measure the tourism capacity within the environmental limits of acceptable change (LAC). The results show that as World Heritage Site, Golden Lake water quality the tourism activities should be controlled below 294,160 passengers per yearis required to meet National Standard of Surface Water Environment Quality Class II and even Class I, therefore, the maximum tourism capacity should be limited below 294,160 passengers per year. However, tourism activities of 500-600 thousand people each year over last few years have produced great pollution into the lake and has seriously affected the water quality. In order to construct a virtuous cycle of scenic tourism destinations and effective use of tourism resources, the management should pay more attention to the main pollutant of NH3-N, CODMn, and fecal coliform, take measures to control pollution.
