Underground water migration studies based on the damage variable coupling with seepage and rock stress

Abstract:

The rock material damage, which has a natural relationship to permeability change of underground water, is the result of new internal fissures generation and original fissures interconnected under stress environment. This article, creatively introduces the damage variable to the research of seepage and rock stress coupling, describing the process of rock fracture permeability and groundwater seepage field evolution through the establishment of relation equation between the rock damage and its permeability coefficient. A laboratory experiment was carried out to investigate the evolution relationship between rock mass stress and strain, permeability and strain, strain and damage and permeability and damage. The results show that the coupling research of rock damage, stress and permeability is feasible and appears high precision.
