The agronomic performance of some grass mixtures in the Prishtina locality

Abstract:The field experiment was carried out in the central part of Kosovo, Prishtina region. The experiment was designed in a CRBD fashion with four replications. The plot sizes were 1.5 m x 8 m per plot or 12 m2. The research comprised 6 treatments of forage mixtures or pure species: Trifolium pratense + Lolium multiflorum, Lotus corniculatus + Festuca rubra, Lolium multiflorum, Festuca rubra, Trifolium pratense, Lotus corniculatus. Dry matter yield (DMY), mineral composition, acid detergent fiber (ADF), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), crude protein (CP) and lignin were determined in this study of each treatments. All traits varied significantly (P<0.01) among investigated forage species and their combinations.
