Video assisted diagnosis system for cucumber disease

Abstract:A video assisted diagnosis expert system was developed. The expert system, called VACDDS, is a web based automatic diagnostic tool that helps farmers identify cucumber diseases, as well as suggests appropriate prevention and control methods. Its system structure and components are described. The system enables users to watch symptom videos of cucumber diseases and select symptoms without weight or any other professional terminology to simplify source data requirements. VACDDS adopts quantitative diagnosis combining with rule-based reasoning (RBR) as reasoning mechanism. For more accurate diagnosis results, we integrate the selection number of a disease with its disease score, and judge the credibility and uniqueness of results incorporating diseases amount related with symptoms. This system would improve the condition that local farmers have difficulty of disease diagnosis caused by the weakness of information receptivity.
