Determination of factors affecting investment in agricultural sector of Iran

Abstract:

One of the most important variables in expansion of agricultural sector is capital stock. In this research we relied on existing investment theories to find and evaluate factors affecting investment in agricultural sector in a 37-year period. The experimental works in this field were reviewed to investigate the factors influencing investment behavior and finally the investment function of Iranian agricultural sector was estimated. The results showed that among the existing capitals in agricultural sector, investment in governmental sector in comparison to private sector is more effective on agricultural production. Similarly, estimation of investment function in agricultural sector showed that variation of added value in agricultural sector doesn’t have any significant effect on investment in agricultural sector; however, investment in agricultural sector is strongly influenced by variation of governmental oil income as an external factor and monetary policy as well.
