Abstract:

In this article, we surveyed the modeling of spreading of the oil slick on the sea surface. It is known that there are three phases, which are effective on oil surface: inertia, gravity viscosity and surface tension. After performing mathematical calculations, we obtained the dependence of the radius of oil slick in time units in inertia, gravity viscous phase and surface tension phase. In addition, we calculated the termination time of spreading of the oil slick on the sea surface. Then, according to the obtained formulae, it is concluded that determining the size of the oil slick and the termination time of spreading of the oil slick is possible.
