Grains quality and safety management situation and its countermeasures in China

Abstract:

The grains quality safety is an important issue around the world. In order to standardize, ensure and promote the quality of the grain, all the countries in the world have laid down the rules. This is a matter of the national economy and the people’s livelihood, no country can afford to ignore. As China is one of the largest and most populous countries among the developing countries, the grain quality and safety here is much more essential to China comparing with the other developing countries. In this review, the present situation of grain quality and safety management, and the main problems of grain quality and safety standard system in China are profiled. In addition, the countermeasures against these problems are also proposed. The paper believes that the national agricultural and grain industrial policy should be perfected and grain laws system be amplified so as to solve the problems concerning grain quality safety. Preliminary achievements have been made in grain quality, but there is much more work to do.
