Abstract:

This study aims to analyze data collected from farmers who participated in The Neem Foundation (NF) activities and used neem pesticide (NP) as well as normal chemical pesticides under commercial field conditions. This study examines the relationships between farmers’ acceptance of NP and the number of crops, types of cotton seeds and risk factors pursuant to use of the NP pesticide. The production of a general organic pesticide is time- consuming and complicated, which is the main reason why many farmers are uninterested in NP implementation. However, none of the previous research efforts attempted to analyze risk factors caused by a failure to adopt NP among farmers in India. Among other factors, we analyze the farmers’ acceptance of neem as an organic pesticide and assess its impact on the number of crops grown by farmers, the type of cotton seeds, and the number of visits to the agriculture extension office during a period of two years.
